I love to design my own quilt patterns and share them. I am a confessed lover of vintage and reproduction fabrics, my favorite thing to do is applique.

Treasures from the scrap bin

Treasures from the scrap bin

I have been dying to dig into my scrap bin and make a little ditty quilt from some of my treasured scrap fabrics.

I could not resist the temptation any longer and started making these cute three inch Shoo Fly blocks randomly choosing fabrics for each of these beauties.

I think they look great set on point, giving me more opportunity to use more of my treasured scraps.

I have been thinking for a while what to do next and I really want to add some applique, so............... I decided to use more of my scrap fabrics already cut into one and a half inch strips.

So far so good ! Now just to finish the border strips and think about the applique design.

You can find the pattern for the finished quilt here.

Happy Stitching

Wow your little shoofly quilt is adorable. I would love to make it but don’t have any scraps right now. Do you want to sell me some. I love it in the pinks and tans. The only thing that could be better is adding some reds, my favorite and maybe some browns. I do so look forward to your posts. They are always stimulating.

Very pretty way to use up your scraps. I am about to the point where I need a full project to empty out my bins too.
