Time for a giveaway ! Scrappy Baskets Quilt Pattern

Scrappy baskets Quilt was such a fun quilt to make, using my scrap bin to make the basket blocks. I love getting into the rhythm of sewing when making a pieced quilt, with my favorite music playing, or a great audio book to listen to while stitching. I find each quilt has a story of where and what I was doing at that point in time, it's like keeping a dairy of my daily life in my quilts. While making Scrappy Baskets Quilt I was trying out a new technique for making half square triangles, learning to be more random with my fabric choices and enjoying the process.

To win the Scrappy Baskets Quilt Pattern leave a comment telling everyone what you like to do or listen to while piecing your quilts ?

Happy Stitching

Sharon

I ’m so impressed that this beautiful quilt is a scrap quilt. I listen to the classics when quilting. Any other steps in quilting are done in silence for concentration. I also just enjoy the quiet.

It depends on what I’m doing as to what I listen to. If I really have to concentrate, I listen to Christopher Parkening, classical guitar, or ocean sounds. If I need a bit of pepping up and am doing something that doesn’t require a lot of concentration, I listen to ZZ Top or David Lee Roth. Then there are times that I don’t listen to anything but the hum of my machine. Ahhh…

I listen to music while machine piecing mostly spiritual. I have lots of CD’s with Elvis Presley and the Gaithers quartets and gatherings. I find it very relaxing and moving – something to concentrate on other than my aches and pains. Always love seeing your quilts. Thanks. Kay H

Lovely pattern Sharonand thanks for the chance to win it! I do like to have company while I sew…sometimes it’s just the radio…over the last little while it’s been Downtown Abbey or Outlander on DVD :-)

I love these scrappy baskets! If I am piecing at the machine or stitching at my antique floor frame, I’m listening to oldies music. if I’m hand piecing or stitching in the hoop, I’m usually watching TV. thanks for this opportunity!

I know a lot of people watch TV while quilting, but I prefer to listen to audio books – usually one a week which really adds to the amount of reading I consume in a year! Love it!

I love so many of your quilts, including this one. I have just enjoyed your making circles video and looking forward to more of the same.
I enjoy listening to audio books with my ipod hooked up to speakers while I quilt or iron – was doing this one day when the book I was listening to came to a bit of an unexpected sensual moment, just as my young teenage son was walking past. I have never reached for the pause button more quickly.
Thank you for creating and inspiring, long may it continue. :-)

I love the scrappy basket quilt. Baskets are one of my favorite to make. I watch TV but get distracted thinking about all the projects awaiting my attention. I would love to have your Scrappy Basket to add to my to do list.

The basket pattern is one of my favourites. Done is scraps makes it that much better.

I don’t listen to anything when I’m doing something that requires concentration. I find even music to be too distracting.

Thanks for the opportunity to win a beautiful pattern.

It varies. Some days I open the window and listen to the birds chirp, or enjoy the silence. Other days I like to quilt with familiar tv shows on in the background; something I can pay scant attention to, but can follow along with because I’ve seen the episodes before.

Love your quilts! When I’m quilting, I usually like to listen to a Christian radio station in the States called K-Love.

I enjoy listening to podcasts from NPR… currently Serial Season 2. Sometimes my quilting distracts me and I have to go back and play it again. ?

    The basket quilt is lovely.
I listen to Jane Austen videos while sewing. I have seen them many times so I don’t have to pay much attention. Hearing the witty dialogue is almost as good as sewing with a friend.

I listen to 70’s rock music from Directv mostly. It’s up beat and I know most of the songs.
