Time for a giveaway ! Scrappy Baskets Quilt Pattern

Scrappy baskets Quilt was such a fun quilt to make, using my scrap bin to make the basket blocks. I love getting into the rhythm of sewing when making a pieced quilt, with my favorite music playing, or a great audio book to listen to while stitching. I find each quilt has a story of where and what I was doing at that point in time, it's like keeping a dairy of my daily life in my quilts. While making Scrappy Baskets Quilt I was trying out a new technique for making half square triangles, learning to be more random with my fabric choices and enjoying the process.

To win the Scrappy Baskets Quilt Pattern leave a comment telling everyone what you like to do or listen to while piecing your quilts ?

Happy Stitching

Sharon

Love the basket quilt – especially love the way you used the stripe fabric. I listen to books on tape while in my sewing room and usually go through several books a month.

Your quilts are lovely and I would love to have your way of putting fabrics together. While sewing I usually “watch” recorded tv. Sometimes, I just enjoy silence though.

When I`m making a quilt while cutting out things need to be quite as don`t want to make a mistake or cut myself. Once that`s done I sometimes watch TV or a video of my patchwork ones. I do like talking books as well. Mainly sew when family out.
I love basket quilts and one day with my scraps I will make one as your`s is lovely. A great way to use the scraps up before adding more to the pile :)
Thank you for this chance in your give away.
    Happy Stitching

I listen to oldies 60’s ish music, and blues. Sometimes I listen to mindless TV if my ipod needs charging. My mind wanders too much while I sew for me to watch a movie or listen to a book.

Wow, I love the basket quilt…….and its all pieced….great!! The quilt is awesome. When I am quilting, I usually have the TV on just for noise. I don’t watch anything, but hear all the news of the day.

I listen to my IPod, which has many types of music on it. I like the variety of it. Or, I might have the TV on and listen to news, crime stories, home remolding or maybe rewatch a Hallmark movie. I sometimes get sidetracked with whats on TV, but that’s OK. I just spend more time in my sewing room then.

I usually listen to recorded tv shows. Of late, I sew in silence just listening to the birds and outside sounds.

Thanks for the opportunity to say Thank You for inspiration and fun! I listen to TV shows that ice recorded. My DH says I listen to TV. Lately I burn a candle and sew in silence listening to the birds and outside sounds.

Happy Quilting from Kansas USA. Basket quilts are one of most favorite quilt patterns. I can just imagine quilters of the past getting excited to design a quilt with lovely baskets of all kinds. When I am working on my quilt projects whether hand applique or machine piecing, I love to listen to National Public Radio. Keep up the great work.

I find I can’t do too much while I’m piecing …. too much concentration going on!! Hahaha! Listening to an audio book is totally out of the question. What I usually listen to is: 1) country music; 2) sports on TV, in particular St. Louis Cardinals baseball or any of the major tennis tournaments; or 3) just total, lovely piece (intentional!) & quiet, alone with my thoughts and the wonderful process of piecing a wonderful project!

Sometimes I listen to talk back radio, but what I really like to do is sit in silence and let my mind wander and just enjoy the moment with needle and thread

    I love this quilt.
When I sew I get in complete relaxation mode
I listen to Enya or Bond and burn a relaxing scented candle. It just makes the time more precious.

Your quilt is wonderful, I really like the scrappy look of it. I either listen to T.V., or now that I finally entered the 21st century, I have started to listen to my “new this year” MP3 player that I have been downloading music to. Lol. I also occasionally listen to Sirius Radio as well. Thanks for the draw.
