Rambling Ways Quilt Block Two

Rambling Ways Quilt Block Two Tips for positioning your applique pieces on the background fabric. Rambling Ways Quilt Block Two/Pine Valley Quilts It's a good to lay your applique pieces out on the pattern layout sheet to get a better idea of where to place each piece before basting them on the background fabric. Rambling Vines Block Two/Pine Valley Quilts   I take a picture with my digital camera so I know where they were, when I am placing them on the background fabric. Rambling Vines Block Two/Pine Valley Quilts After basting them in place it's time to choose thread that matches the applique for both machine and hand applique, it is important to keep those stitches from showing. I am using Wonderfil invisafil thread which is great for both hand and machine stitching. Thread colour a shade darker than the fabric for each applique piece is always less visible than thread a shade lighter.   If you missed the latest newsletter, Rambling Ways Quilt Block Two is now available for download Happy Stitching Sharon

Love this block! Thanks for the tip about the color of thread to use too. I never really thought about the fact that the darker would be less visible!
