You may have seen the pictures from the Lillys Table Quilt on facebook and instagram lately. I have been re-organizing the Pine Valley Quilts website, looking at my quilt patterns I realized that you may not have seen the quilts in reality. One picture of the full quilt is just not enough to really do the quilt justice and see them as they really are.
I've had a lot of fun taking some really nice photos, with a little more detail of different parts of the quilt. The parts that I love !........... and the parts that you may not normally see when looking at the larger picture of the whole quilt.
Who does not love pictures of quilts................
The story behind the Lillys Table Mat Quilt started when I was needing a sample for an applique class. Lillys Table Mat Quilt was appliqued with invisible turned edge applique by machine. There are several differnent methods for creating applique by machine, after trying several methods and finding the products and method that works for me, I have now put together an Applique! E-book.
I don't have any relevance to the name Lilly but it seemed to suit this little quilt. I played with the quilting, had fun mixing different patterns together. From feathers to circles to pumpkin seed to spirals, it all works great together around the applique.
Here's Lillys Table Mat
I am still working on the other patterns, busy taking photos and enjoying my quilts all over again.
I hope you will too, as I plan to blog about them all so I can share the fun with you.
