I love to design my own quilt patterns and share them. I am a confessed lover of vintage and reproduction fabrics, my favorite thing to do is applique.

Birds in a Bluebird Tree Giveaway Winner !

Such a lot of wonderful stories. I have had such fun reading them all.                                                                                     It always fascinates me how quilting seems to grab you once you start you just can't stop lol. There are so many reasons to make quilts........... I started because I wanted to make a quilt each for my two boys, they would take the duvet cover off the bed in the mornings and snuggle up to watch cartoons on the Telly. I was a little fussy and hated that the beds looked bare, not being able to make them before the day got going always frustrated me. (Must be the control freak in me lol) I had not long purchased my first very own sewing machine, up until then I had to beg, steal or borrow a machine in order to sew! Quilting or Patchwork as it was more commonly called at that time always intrigued me. I had a copy of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine, the cover had a picture of a beautiful quilt. So I decided to make one each for my boy's........... Well I did not know anything about patchwork, only a little hand stitching lesson I had taken years before. I did not know about quarter inch seams....... but I was happy with the first quilt. I knew I needed help, I was keen to know more about this craft and the process. I signed up for the local quilting class in the local quilt shop and the rest is history. That was approx twenty five years ago and I am still learning today and loving it.....with many more quilts yet to make. Enough rambling from me ! I want to tell you who won the giveaway.

Karen Waite is the winner of the Birds in a Bluebird Tree Kit.                                 Congratulations Karen !

Oh thank you so much Sharon, your designs are beautiful and I’m so excited to win your kit.
My two young boys also love snuggling up in their quilts. … or making dens using them. And then the quilts are often in the washing machine after juice or chocolate being spilt on them… but it’s knowing they love the quilts that means so much :)
    Thank you again x
