I had a lovely visit from my niece who is eight years old. If this is what having grandchildren is like then bring it on
We had such a special time, we did all the usual jobs that need to be done here like collecting eggs and feeding the chooks. Also looking after the dogs, cats and horse and checking the sheep. We also weeded the vege garden and picked the peaches. As Audrey is a fruit lover she had great delight in counting the peaches on the tree to see if there were any ripe ones for her to eat.
We also did lots of special things like painting pictures, I taught her how to do collage with fabric and she made a fish, I have a picture of the fish that is waiting to be quilted, I think she did a really good job. This has opened my eyes as to what fun you can have with children and maybe a great class to get kids interested in quilting.
We also had a real fun day out at the Auckland Zoo, I have always been a lover of the zoo and one of the regrets about my own children growing up is that I don't get to go to these fun places any more. ( another reason to have grandchildren )
I will be finishing Audrey's fish as the top of the priority list and will keep you posted with the results.
Bye for now
