The Simple Red Quilt has twenty eight applique blocks in the outside border. As I am working on them I thought you might like to see an Applique overlay idea. I found Vellum tracing paper in A4 sheets in our local stationery shop, this gave me the idea that if I traced the block pattern onto the Vellum Tracing paper it would work great as an Applique Overlay, because it is light and you can see through it easily.
I now have all twenty eight blocks completed, hopefully I can show you a picture of the finished quilt top in my next post. I also want to show you a picture of my sewing area, it's not big ! For years I have been trying to fit everything in and still have areas to work on different aspects ie: applique, quilting, piecing, computer work. My friends will tell you how often I change everything around trying to make more space. My lovely husband made some suggestions, and when I actually started to realize that he was making sense before I knew it he had taken half the furniture out and replaced it with one desk, he had my sewing area sorted out wonderfully. It works great and I love it........ Just goes to show sometimes it pays to listen. LOL
