Anna's Treasure / Rambling Ways Quilt

Anna's Treasure / Rambling Ways Quilt Block Five of the Rambling Ways Quilt is now available for download. It's hard to believe that we are getting through the blocks so fast. Anna's Treasure/Pine Valley Quilts   This block was inspired by my dear friend 'Anna' and her amazing Roses. Each year on my birthday my friend Anna leaves a beautiful bouquet of Roses in my letter box. (We have a long driveway that is quite a distance from the house) What a treasure to find such a lovely surprise when I collect my mail. Anna's Surprise/ Pine Valley QuiltsAnna's Surprise/ Pine Valley Quilts This year I was designing the blocks for the Rambling Ways Quilt and I just had to add a block in the quilt to remind me of Anna. When I am positioning the pieces of my applique I use the pattern to work out the placement for the colour scheme. I take a digital photo so I know where to put the pieces when placing them onto the background fabric. This way I can move pieces around and try different options, taking a photo each time until I find the perfect arrangement. Positioning Applique / Pine Valley Quilts Maybe you might like to try using this method to play with your colour selections.   Happy Stitching Sharon Pine Valley Quilts now has a facebook group so you can join in the fun and share your pictures with everyone.

The block is beautiful. I like the flowers and colors you’ve chosen but I especially like the background with several different fabrics.
